Young people are serious about tackling climate change, and we are ready to invest in our future. But many European governments are blocking more ambitious action. We need to send them a clear signal in a language they understand: money!
Therefore we are calling young people around Europe to transfer 1 Cent, (or 1 Penny, 1 Öre, etc.) to their national treasuries as a symbolic down-payment for investment in solving the climate crisis. The more people who make this symbolic payment, the more attention we will create for our matter within governments. And only with pressure we will convince our governments to take a strong stand for the climate, for young people and for future generations. Investing into a low carbon society today will help our economy, boost our job prospects and lead the way into a greener future.
Every cent which is not invested today to tackle climate change, the youth of today will have to pay several times in 20 years to pay for catastrophes caused by global warming.
So get part of the European campaign to Push Europe by:
- Transferring 1 Cent to your government and tell them to invest into a greener future
- Telling your friends about it and make them to join the Push
- Keep Pushing by doing further actions on the street and online
